1979 - PhD. (Physics & Mathematics Quantum Radiophysics), M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University. Thesis: "Nonlinear time-dependent theory for distributed feedback lasers".

- nonlinear waves dynamics;
- waves in fluctuating media;
- distributed feedback lasers;
- structure and kinetics of associate fluid media and solutions
- optical and ultrasonic research techniques for such media.
- remote sensing methods.
